Senen months after the successful release of “Libertango”, Zoe Tiganouria returns with her new album: “Tanguera” (December 2006). Twenty one new mixes of well known themes from all around the world, a revolutionary melodic tour with the accordion as a narrator. The Reccording: it awakens the memories of the era of romance and the gramophone, maintains in a big grade the air of “old times”, transferring it dynamically to the present.

The Themes: Argentina, Cuba, Greece, France, America… musical wanderings under the sounds of traditional music and works by widely known composers… “Por una Cabeza” by Carlos Gardel, “Tanguera” by Mariano Mores, “Serah” by Vasilis Tsitsanis, Astor Piazzolla’s “Libertango”, Stamatis Kraunaki’s “To Trito Stefani”, “Corsica” by Petru Guelfucci, “And I love her” by John Lennon & Paul McCartney, John William’s “Schindler’ s List”, Richard Galliano’s “Valse a Margaux” etc.

The Rhythms: latin, tango, bossa, samba, rumba, valse, swing and three symphonic pieces.

The Musicians: the basis for the most tracks of the album was “Senso Latino”, a band of Cuban and Greek excellent musicians. Then, musicians from Argentina, Germany, Romania, Armenia and Greece… enriched the sound. The result was and is a homogenous sound with 21 compositions.

The Accordion: it dominates… and becomes a song, a clarinet, a violin, a bandoneon… through the sensational vigor of Zoe Tiganouria – one of the most important virtuosos on this instrument in Greece.

The “Tanguera”: a tanguera in Argentina is a woman who dances the tango with a strong desire… and maybe, in an extension of the dream, a woman with a burning desire to play the tango… and maybe, in a futher extension, Zoe herself…
